Photo Sharing and KVKK in Kindergartens

Child photo is personal data. The channel, scope and retention period of the sharing are the responsibility of the institution.

Why is photo sharing sensitive?

A child's image is personal data; This is data that needs to be protected especially in the younger age group. The institution must be able to explain for what purpose this image is processed, with whom it is shared and for how long it is stored.

Separate the scope of consent

A single “photography allowed” confirmation is not enough. Their intended uses are different and should be considered separately:

  • In-class sharing: only to concerned parents
  • Institutional archive: internal storage
  • Promotion and social media: public use

Targeted sharing is safe from open group

If the photo falls into an open message group, it means that the institution loses control. Content is easily copied and dispersed from there.

Sharing in MiniTakip is done by selecting the class and target audience; The content is made available only to relevant parents and a group environment that spreads outside the institution is not created.

Have the deletion and application process ready

The parent may request the deletion of his/her data. How the institution will receive this request and how long it will take to finalize it should be defined in advance. At MiniTakip, account and data requests are carried out through a trackable application process; Processed data categories and rights are published in the KVKK information text.

Sharing is safe if the institution can choose where the photo goes; If it cannot choose, the risk lies with the institution.
